ComEd Utility Pole Inspections
Osmose Utility Services, an authorized ComEd contractor, is currently conducting utility pole inspections and reinforcement work in the Village. Five crews are currently operating throughout Morton Grove.
This work may include digging around the base of utility poles to evaluate their condition and help maintain the safety and reliability of ComEd’s electrical system. Some poles are located on or near private property, including residential backyards. When access is needed, crews will place a notice on the resident’s door.
Crews will hand-dig approximately 18 inches below ground and 12 inches around the base of each pole. Every effort will be made to minimize disruption to surrounding landscaping and property. Any areas impacted by the work will be restored upon completion.
The work is part of a ComEd program scheduled to continue through December 19, 2026. Village staff have also met with an Osmose crew to review the work being performed and discuss efforts to minimize impacts to residents and their properties.
Residents with questions or concerns may contact ComEd’s Project Support Team at (630) 746-8231.
