Code Enforcement

The Village of Morton Grove has adopted and enforces codes and regulations governing building construction, renovations, property maintenance, and related activities. The Village Municipal Code establishes the standards and requirements that apply to properties and construction activities throughout the Village. Property owners, contractors, and design professionals are responsible for complying with all applicable codes and ordinances.

Code enforcement is coordinated by the Department of Community and Economic Development, Building and Inspectional Services. Residents and property owners who believe a property or construction activity may not comply with Village codes can file a code enforcement complaint for review.

All code enforcement complaints are received anonymously. Information provided by a complainant will not be shared with the subject of the complaint.

Rodent Complaints: To report rodent sightings, please contact the Village of Morton Grove at 847-470-5214 or email building@mortongroveil.org. Provide your name, address (where rodent sightings were observed), a phone number where you can be reached, and a description of your rodent concern.
